Paint the Town Tartan is Aberdeen Inspired’s city centre campaign to celebrate Scotland’s FIFA World Cup 2026 journey and bring a splash of tartan, colour and excitement to Aberdeen ahead of kick-off.

Businesses across the city centre are getting behind the national team with Scottish-themed displays, decorations and messages of support, helping to create a vibrant atmosphere for residents, workers and visitors alike.

With Scotland set to take to the world stage, there’s never been a better time to enjoy everything Aberdeen city centre has to offer. Whether you're looking for somewhere to watch the matches, take advantage of special offers, enjoy great food and drink, or soak up the tournament atmosphere, there will be plenty happening across the city centre throughout the World Cup.

The celebrations get underway with the The Robert Gordon’s College Pipe Band and Highland Dancers performing at the Trinity Centre, Bon Accord Centre and Union Terrace Gardens on Wednesday, June 10, the day before the World Cup officially opens in the US.

Throughout the tournament, we'll be showcasing the best places to watch the action, alongside World Cup-themed offers, events and experiences from city centre businesses, making it easier than ever to support Scotland while supporting local.

If your business is running a World Cup-themed offer, screening, event or promotion, or would like to get involved in Paint the Town Tartan, email kate.kenyon@aberdeeninspired.com.
