Presented as part of the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCo), Deiseil: Dancing in Time comes to Cowdray Hall with a powerful and immersive exploration of Scotland's percussive dance tradition.

Combining step dance, fiddle music, Gaelic song and storytelling, this new production traces the story of a cultural tradition that was almost lost and the remarkable revival that helped bring it back to life. At its heart is a deeply personal story of friendship, heritage and the enduring connections that shape who we are.

Taking audiences on a journey through centuries of Scottish tradition, Deiseil explores themes of culture, identity and belonging, revealing how the echoes of the past continue to resonate in contemporary society. Through compelling performance and rich musical storytelling, the show invites audiences into the heart of Scotland's living heritage.

Named after the Scottish Gaelic word meaning ready, Deiseil is a joyful, thought-provoking and uplifting experience that celebrates the resilience of cultural traditions and the people who keep them alive.

Following the 55-minute performance, audiences are invited to stay for an open discussion and Q&A with the artists, offering further insight into the creation of the work and the traditions that inspired it.

Suitable for all ages.
