Our very own winter wonderland, Curated at the Quad market at Marischal College, will once again create a magical atmosphere this weekend, where you can pick out the perfect gifts for your family and friends from our amazing range of stallholders. Over the coming weeks, we will introduce you to a few who are selling their interesting items at this year’s market.

Today it’s the turn of Andrew Smith from Little Brown Dog Spirits which is a micro-distillery and independent bottler. They sell gins, single-cask calvados, Scotch whisky and one-off Experimental Spirit projects. Distilled on site with a small 10-litre copper pot and a 100-litre for the rectification and bottled there too.

Little Brown Dog Spirits will be at Curated in the Quad market 2-4 December and 9-11 December. The market is open Fridays -Sundays, until 18 December. Fridays 11am-7pm, Saturdays 11am-7pm and Sundays 11am-6pm

Can you tell us more about you and why you set up the company?

We are Little Brown Dog Spirits – a micro-distillery and independent bottler based outside Fetternear. We set up the company in 2018 to make a business out of what had been an increasingly serious hobby since about 2021.

Can you tell us about the products you are selling at the Christmas Market?

We’re bringing a selection of our Aberdeenshire gins including the latest #projectSTOVIES, distilled using local Aberdeenshire veggies. As well as some single cask calvados and hopefully our Wee Mongrel blended Scotch whisky as well.

Why did you decide to take part in this year’s Christmas Market?

We don’t often get a chance to the big city so it’s a great opportunity to share our products with people and see first hand their reactions when they taste our products.

What are you looking forward to at the Christmas Market?

We’re looking forward to a bit of festive cheer!
