Meet Rajesh Kumar, Director at Namaste Delhi Indian restaurant located on the junction of Bridge Street and Guild Street, next to all the transport hubs and moments away from Union Square and Union Street. Rajesh’s role at Namaste Delhi involves finances and management of the business but his day job is Pipeline Technical Authority for an oil company.

Namaste Delhi opened in 2018, when Rajesh struggled to find locally the types of food he would have in his native India. Spotting a gap in the market, he created this little gem, offering tapas and à la carte dishes. The food is not adapted to the local taste, but it is cooked according to tradition, to keep it authentic and to bring the real taste of India to the table, every time to every customer. The venue also offers cooking and cocktail classes and a wide range of bespoke and corporate events.

Rajesh explained that Namaste Delhi offers a different style of cooking to that of other Indian restaurants, with authentic food made from ‘scratch’ as if cooking at home. The Indian chefs take time to infuse all the spices, aromas, and flavours from all the individual ingredients prepared. Rajesh’s favourite dishes on the menu are the Tangri Qabab (roasted chicken with spices) and the Delhi chilli chicken as a starter. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are also available on the menu. Public reception has been great since opening in 2018, with repeat custom and great reviews online as customers appreciate the authentic style, flavours and warm welcome at Namaste Delhi.

Rajesh enjoys and has a passion for cooking which he puts into his business, this has led to cooking classes being available which are very popular. The cooking classes offer the opportunity to see behind the scenes and observe the style of cooking at Namaste Delhi. In the classes, customers are taken on a journey to prepare a three-course meal with guidance in which they learn an abundance of Indian cooking tips and leave with a unique experience, all topped up with heavenly traditional food to share.

Meet Stefania Piccardo, Marketing & PR Manager at Namaste Delhi whose role is to take care of the marketing & events as well as networking and collaborations. Stefania explained that Namaste Delhi is more than just a restaurant. The venue hosts corporate and bespoke events, cooking and cocktail masterclasses, afternoon teas with an Indian twist and parties for any occasion. She believes in offering the customers a dining experience, a journey to India through the flavours, not just a meal. She also said the ambience makes a great venue for events: its spacious decorative interior, sprinkled with colourful saris, elegant little touches and the majestic grand piano all blend together to create a high-class and stylish tone to this modern venue.
