Spectra returns to Aberdeen city centre from February 5–8 2026, bringing four nights of free, large-scale light installations to iconic locations across the city.
Celebrating its 12th year, Scotland’s Festival of Light will transform streets, squares and green spaces after dark, with immersive and interactive artworks inspired by the 2026 theme, “Be Curious”. Highlights include a dramatic Fire Garden at Union Terrace Gardens, glowing nocturnal creatures at Marischal Square, and an interactive digital installation on Broad Street.
Free to attend and suitable for all ages, Spectra showcases Aberdeen’s architecture while celebrating the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
