A Play, A Pie and A Pint returns to The Lemon Tree with Whaur’s Yer Wullie Shakespeare Noo?, a lively new comedy written and directed by Brian Logan.
Set during the Scottish Enlightenment, the play revisits one of Scotland’s most controversial theatrical moments. When minister John Home stages his play Douglas despite strict restrictions on theatre, it sparks outrage within the Church of Scotland and a heated debate among leading thinkers of the time.
Was Home Scotland’s answer to Shakespeare, or had he taken things a step too far?
Packed with wit, historical mischief and plenty of Scots humour, this entertaining production brings a fascinating chapter of Scottish theatre history to life.
And, as always, your ticket includes a pie and a pint to enjoy before the performance!
