Award winning funnyman Gary Meikle is bringing his first touring show to the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival.
After rising to stardom with his social media rants, the viral sensation is hitting the road with new live show The iBrow Guy which includes his first performance on a theatre stage in the Granite City.
During his show at The Tivoli Theatre on October 9, Gary will guide the audience through eyebrow etiquette, logic, laws and how it’s changed his life as he'll now forevermore be known as the eyebrow guy.
Focussing on discussing life as a single parent, he will share his remarkable life story about how he's survived a troubled childhood to defy the odds, raised a daughter without her mother and became a granddad all before he was 40.
Fans will also get an insight into the workings of his mind, his thoughts and his opinions, of which he has not dared to verbalise until now. Gary is not one for mincing his words so expect the unexpected from this playfully dark effervescent rising star.
Introduced to the Granite City in 2016 by Aberdeen Inspired, the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival has grown considerably since then and now attracts big names in comedy. Supported by The McGinty’s Group Scotland and Balmoral Group, it is taking place in venues across the city centre from October 3 to October 13.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are delighted to add Gary Meikle to our line-up for the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival. Securing him on his first touring show is a great coup for the festival and we are sure there will be high demand for his gig.
“This year’s festival is shaping up to be something very special, with the previously announced Ben Elton, Daniel Sloss and Sindhu Vee among others. Aberdeen is making itself known as a destination of choice through events like this and there has never been a better time to enjoy everything the city has to offer.”
Gary said: “Aberdeen is one of my favourite cities to play in and I simply can’t wait to come back up to perform at the sublime Tivoli theatre as part of this year’s festival. You’ve always made me feel welcome Aberdeen, to the point where I’m a miserable sod all the way home. So come join me for what will be the last showing up your way of my debut tour show, the iBrow guy, hope to see y'all soon!”
