What dish would you order for your valentine? (Off your menu)
We have a very extensive menu to suit every taste but if I had to choose a dish for Valentine I would order Murgh Makhani. It is a very popular dish among our customers. It is red, sweet with a dash of spices so it would be perfect for Valentine!
What do you love about where you work?
We are a friendly team, we get along well together. Most of all I love the fact that everyone is given a voice, everyone can put their ideas on the table. We work well together and from the director to the kitchen porter everyone is valued as a part of the team.
Why should someone take their date to your restaurant?
This is the most romantic high end restaurant in Aberdeen. We have got a soothing, elegant and spacious ambience. We run romantic live piano evenings with our grand piano. Our dedicated staff will look after you and our food is cooked like at home, from scratch by our Indian chefs. We like to think of our customers as guests coming to our home to enjoy their food and have a nice time. We believe in the importance of small touches like offering a red rose to all the ladies or some heart shaped chocolates to finish your meal!

I would order the Fahrenheit 451 as my boyfriend likes his spicy food, and this one certainly has a kick to it.

I love working at Books and Beans because of the vibes the staff display and the music choices make for a great atmosphere.

Books and Beans is a great place to bring someone for a date as we can cater to many different date vibes, whether you want a vibrant coffee downstairs amongst flowers, or a more intimate reading session upstairs, we've got it all. Plus, good food and drinks, the true way to anyone's heart.

Not so much the dish but more the combination. Prawn Cocktail to start, fish and chips and a knickerbocker Glory . This is Just I love you food . It’s traditional, it’s normal and it’s how you would like to live your futures lives together
What do you love about where you work?
The special thing about The Ashvale is the amount of people we see and have been serving for near on 4 decades . We have worked our way through generations of locals , mums, dads , grannies , grandads and kids and now those kids are now mums and dads and history is repeating itself. It’s a wonderful story and of course everyone just loves fish and chips . Even more special is the fact that the Northeast of Scotland produces the absolute best of produce direct from the North Sea and we have many fantastic operators keeping everyone fed with the best of fish and chips .
Why should someone take their date to your restaurant?
I kid you not , we have had many a romance blossom in our restaurants and even in our takeaway queues . There is plenty time for more fancy more expensive meals but fish and chips says everything about who you are . If you can indulge and blossom over a lovely plate of fish and chips the world is your oyster 😂
