Tracey Smedley is the founder of The Damn Fine Cheese Company, established in 2014 after 14 years of selling specialty foods at agricultural shows and events across the UK. Currently based in Aviemore, in the Cairngorms of Scotland, Tracey's brand has grown consistently, and she now attends over 40 events annually, including farmers markets. Her mouth-watering flavored cheddar cheeses will be available at Curated In The Quad's Christmas Village this weekend, offering attendees a delightful taste of her artisanal creations.
WHO IS BEHIND DAMN FINE CHEESE?
Can you tell us more about you and why you set up the company?
In 2014, after 14 years selling a range of delicious speciality foods at Agricultural shows & events all around England, I relocated to Scotland and decided that I wanted to focus on my favorite of those foods, which is how The Damn Fine Cheese Company. came to be.
I love travelling and I'm so fortunate that I have been able to travel around Scotland introducing my brand to folk at events in some stunning locations such as Balmoral, Crathes Castle, Scone Palace & Blair Castle to name just a few, for the past 9 years.
Can you tell us about the products you are selling at Curated In The Quad?
I will be bringing my range of flavoured cheddar cheese truckles which are available in the following mouth watering flavours: Mature Cheddar, Caramelised Red Onion, Smoked cheddar, Cracked Black Pepper, Garlic & Chives, Chilli Cheddar, Whisky & Orange, Cranberry, The Wee Yeastie Beastie, Black Gold, The Italian Job and also The Taste of Christmas Cheddar, a great addition to any Christmas cheese board!
Why did you decide to take part in this year’s Curated In The Quad?
Aberdeen is such a lovely city and the Christmas Market offers me a great opportunity to meet lots of my regular customers along with the potential of introducing my brand to lots of new customers too. I also love the fact that when bringing my stall to an event I'm helping to contribute to such a worthwhile charity as Charlie House.
What are you looking forward to at Curated In The Quad?
I love the atmosphere and festive feel of a Christmas market. I'm really looking forward to meeting and chatting with fellow stallholders along with customers old and new.
What’s your message to people coming to Curated In The Quad?
For those cheese lovers out there please do come along to sample some of the delicious flavours I have to offer and see for yourself if the products really do stand up to their name, Damn Fine Cheese!
