Globally acclaimed Nuart Aberdeen makes its mark on the city

Earlier this month, we announced the final two artists joining the Nuart Summer 2021 lineup, Henrik Uldalen and duo SNIK. Read more about them here.

Henrik Uldalen has just completed a Nuart mural at the Spring Gardens Unite Students building. Check out his interview with The Press and Journal here.

Along with her mural on Palmerston Road, KMG also created a second mural for Nuart Aberdeen at the St Nicholas Rooftop Garden. Make sure to take a picture if you’re passing by and share it with us on social media at @abdninspired!

New branch of SBS opens in Aberdeen

Exactly a month ago we welcomed the world’s oldest building society, Scottish Building Society (SBS) to the city centre when they opened a £500,000 branch on the corner of Union Street and Holburn Street. Business Relationship Manager Alan Chapman said “… given we have thousands of members in the North East we want to ensure they get the best of both worlds – the opportunity to talk to us face to face if they wish, or use our digital and mortgage savings service SBS online.”

It’s welcoming to see SBS making a commitment to bricks and mortar by opening a branch in Aberdeen and we look forward to supporting them.

Last month, we issued a call for people to get involved in ‘Stuck Up’ a worldwide collaborative project which will see a massive ‘Paste Up’ project take place in Aberdeen City Centre as part of Nuart Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Restaurant Week

Now that life is slowly starting to return to normal, we’re looking for your thoughts on when the next Aberdeen Restaurant Week should take place? With restrictions still in place we know capacity is an issue but we are thinking that September or October might be the right sort of timeframe to work towards.

Your feedback from the last ARW was clear and a couple of common themes emerged - you wanted it to last longer and include more bespoke offerings. ARW was a staple on our menu of events, but we would like to know from you – Would you like to see it return and if so, when do you think this should happen?

Let us know what you think by getting IN Touch email: info@aberdeeninspired.com

New look city centre Co-op opens its doors

The Co-op on Union Street had its big relaunch today. Gus the seagull which made the store go viral on social media was at the door to greet customers with a free tuna sandwich.

The Co-op team have done a fantastic job in remodelling the store so make sure you pop in and check out all the fantastic produce they have on offer. Seagulls are however required to remain outside!

Backyard @ Union Sq

Union Sq have teamed up with the Backyard team to bring their second instalment to the city centre. Located in the car park in front of the Union Square south entrance Backyard Union Sq serves up food from a selection of Aberdeen's local independent street food operators, has a locally operated and fully licensed outdoor bar and sheltered communal seating.
