A leading city centre business organisation will spearhead a new festival this summer to highlight Aberdeen’s favourite hair salons, barbers, spa’s and cosmetic retailers.

Aberdeen Hair and Beauty Week will take place from Monday, July 2 to Sunday, July 8 and will offer a wide range of exclusive discounts, promotions and competitions across the city in time for summer.

Organised by Aberdeen Inspired, the week-long event will enhance the city centre offering and support businesses at a predominantly quiet time of year.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “Aberdeen boasts some of the most original salons, beauty counters, barbers and cosmetic retailers.

We are spoiled for choice and we want to inspire our hair and beauty retailers to get involved and to be as imaginative as possible with their offers.

“We hope to encourage everyone to treat themselves this summer, to take advantage of all the fantastic discounts, experience our unique salons and perhaps try somewhere new.”

Multi-award-winning hair and beauty salon Linton and Mac have already signed up along with Huntsman who specialise in men’s grooming.

One of Aberdeen’s long-standing favourite hair and beauty salons, James Dunn House will also be submitting unique discounts on some of their services.

Dean Walker, owner of James Duns House and Mr Dun, said:

“We are thrilled to be part of Aberdeen’s first hair and beauty week, and hope it can be as successful as the popular restaurant week.

“Both Mr Dun & James Dun’s House will have some fantastic experiences and offers available for guests during hair & beauty week. We hope it gives all the local businesses in the city centre a well-deserved boost.”

Best UK Barber award winner, Kyle Ross, owner of Huntsman on Union Street, added:

“We are delighted to be part of Aberdeen Hair & Beauty Week and will be announcing details of the special offers on offer at Huntsman throughout the event in the coming weeks.

“This week will shine a light on the exciting and vibrant men’s grooming scene in the north-east and hopefully encourage more people to join in.”
