Antonella Valente has her passport stamped for a year of eating out at some of the Granite City’s finest restaurants, thanks to Aberdeen Inspired.
She is the lucky winner of our Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks Foodie Passport competition and will now enjoy a meal out for two for a year at 12 different eateries.
The third-year linguistics and sociology student at Aberdeen University scooped the prize by dining at five different places and completing her Foodie Passport during the September edition of Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks, which is staged by Aberdeen Inspired.
Antonella said she was thrilled to have picked up the prize and is looking forward to her first winning meal this weekend at 8848.
She said “To have won this fantastic prize is amazing. I couldn’t believe it at first! I’m so excited to try new places out. In my opinion, that's the best part about Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks.
“My friend and I actually dined out at six different places during the September event, but we lost our first receipt, so we had to add another onto our list.
“It was great fun visiting new places we had not been to before. I am really looking forward to eating out at more new places and returning to some of my favourites with my friend over the next 12 months.
“The Foodie passport encouraged us to eat our more, I hope to do it again at the next Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks, though I’m not sure I would be lucky enough to win twice in a row!”
So congratulations and bon appetit to Antonella – and our thanks to the 12 restaurants who have donated meals as part of the Foodie Passport prize.
