A new makers’ market opened its doors today (Thursday, 30th November) bringing a new lease of life to the former Debenhams’ store in Aberdeen’s Trinity Centre.
There has been a buzz of excitement around the arrival of collABZ, which will see small businesses and local crafters showcase their unique creations every Thursday to Sunday until Christmas and beyond in a space that aims to be inclusive, welcoming and inspiring for makes and visitors.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “It is a delight to see this new market arriving at the Trinity Centre on Union Street and putting local firms and creatives in the spotlight, supporting their hard work.
“collABZ is another innovative approach to bringing new businesses and fresh energy back to the heart of the Granite City, attracting people into the city centre.”
collABZ is inspired by the seafaring roots and trading history of Aberdeen and born out of a place of positivity, creativity, hope and pride with a mission of celebrating, promoting and championing local and Scottish businesses with plans to have future events in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Taking part over the coming weeks will be Cove Honey Bees, Crystal Calm, Bramble Graphics, Chloe’s Kitchen Creations, Shut the Fudge Up, La Bomba, Sip Stitch Creations, Silver Story, Isle and Coast, Curiously Charmed and The Highland Tweedery and many more makers.
