American comedian Desiree Burch will bring her unique brand of humour to the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival later this year.

Tipped as one of the best acts to visit at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, the former New Yorker with a knack for storytelling is the latest big name confirmed for the festival.

Taking place as part of her national tour Desiree’s Coming Early, her show will be held at the Carmelite Hotel on Saturday 12 October.

The breakout star of Netflix's Flinch, The Mash Report and Live At The Apollo (BBC) debuts new stand-up about the self and everything else. As seen on Have I Got News For You, QI, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, 8 Out of 10 Cats and more. Every comic has a relationship show but what happens when that relationship is with the one person you were most trying to avoid? One isn't prime or perfect. But it is magic!

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Desiree will be making her debut at the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival this year.

“After initially intending to delight crowds at the 2018 festival but having to cancel her planned date due to filming a last minute TV show, Desiree has been true to her word and we are sure fans will be delighted she is part of the line-up.

“We expect tickets to be snapped up quickly for her show so encourage the public to book early to avoid disappointment.”

The Aberdeen International Comedy Festival will run at a multitude of city venues, bars and clubs over the course of 11 days from Thursday 3 October until Sunday 13 October 2019.

It will continue to shine a spotlight on local talent as well as showcasing the best acts on both the national and international comedy circuit. The festival has been organised and promoted in its entirety by Aberdeen Inspired since 2016 with generous support from The McGinty’s Group Scotland and Balmoral Group.

Tickets go on sale today (Friday 28 June) and are priced at £14 (incl. BF).
