A contemporary Aberdeen artist’s work is to be showcased at a “reimagining” of office space at Merchant Exchange in the heart of the Granite City.
Paintings by Catriona Yates will be displayed throughout the space on Exchange Street in the Merchant Quarter, now being comprehensively refurbished by the SRE Group.
The revamp will create a collection of “walk-in” suites with break-out areas and meeting rooms for the larger offices. The building’s reception has also been reconfigured and revitalised.
Artist Catriona works from her Aberdeen studio and is drawn to natural forms and patterns, producing vibrant and imaginative art. She has a growing audience of private collectors and was featured in Trend Magazine. Her work was selected for the Aberdeen Artists Society’s exhibition both this year and last.
John Grewar, who manages letting activity for the SRE Group, said: “Our vision for the new evolution of Merchant Exchange is bold and ambitious and this is reflected in our choice of artist to showcase at the new space. Catriona’s work is vibrant and inspiring and will create real impact in our redesigned and reimagined space.”
The building, with its traditional granite façade, is being brought up to date to create space that works for agile businesses that need flexibility and contemporary, quality workspace that is connected to public transport as well as retail and leisure. Suites range from 250 sq. ft. to larger floors of 3,500 sq. ft. approximately.
The refurbishment of Merchant Exchange will be completed by March 2024.
