The earlier you sign up, the more time we have to feature your business in our campaign and comms plans. Even if you are unsure of your exact offer/promotion or event details, please still let us know you plan to take part by completing our form as soon as you can.

What we need from Shops?

  • Offer a discount or free gift with purchase to shoppers throughout the live dates (10% discount minimum and minimum spend can be set by business for any free gift)
  • Please consider making the best offer you possibly can – providing a compelling offer is your chance to entice customers through the door who may return again and again. Limitations on discounts will be accepted within reason if you need to exclude certain brands etc - please specify this when completing our sign-up form so we can communicate this clearly in our listings. Customers will claim their discount or free gift by mentioning ‘Shop Aberdeen’. Offers will not be announced until the week of the event.
  • Consider hosting a special event - This could be anything from a sip and shop session (some prosecco or free nibbles), a mini fashion show, a demonstration or workshop relevant to your business, a complimentary service such as personal styling, live music in the shop, something to entertain kids while their parents browse, anything that would help to encourage shoppers to come along and see what you have to offer. Events can take place at any time during the campaign dates. All special events will be listed on our website and built into our promotions for the event.
  • Provide shop information including description/blurb, address, opening hours, key promotional image(s) for our website and socials (such as shop floor photos or examples of products/stock). Following recent website updates, our shop listings will now be categorised and much easier for customers to navigate.
  • Once we launch, shout about your involvement and the campaign on your social media, website and in person at your store to help spread the word! Utilise our marketing materials which will include print materials and digital assets. Tell your customers all about it in the lead up to the event, and please encourage other business owners you know to sign up to take part too!

Who can take part?

Aberdeen Inspired work within a key area of Aberdeen City Centre (our BID footprint) – this campaign is open to all within this area, including non-levy payers on this occasion.

Any businesses who sell a product are welcome to take part and we are also happy to accept leisure businesses such as beauty salons and hairdressers.

Please note the promotion will not feature the hospitality sector in order to keep the focus on retail, if you are a hospitality business, please feel free to check out Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks which we run twice a year.

What we’ll do:

  • Build a marketing campaign for the project, including PR, adverts, print materials, social media and partnerships with local influencers.
  • Create a categorised listing of participating shops on our website for customers to browse including your shop details, promotion and event information if applicable.
  • Provide participating businesses branded materials to show you are involved along with other marketing materials – both physical and digital.
