On Thursday evening Aberdeen International Comedy Festival 2019 kicks off with Ben Elton, Fern Brady and Janey Godley taking to three iconic city centre venues to open up proceedings.

We are delighted to report that more than 8,000 tickets have already been sold – 20% more than the overall total for 2018 – before this year’s events have even begun. The festival is helping to position the city as a place to come for comedy, with a number of headliners and new acts straight from the Edinburgh Fridge Festival being secured for the line-up.

With thousands of people descending on the city centre over the next twelve days, our supporting venues and local businesses will benefit as comedy fans explore the city, enjoying all that is on offer including shopping, bars and restaurants.
