Burness Paull and The McGinty’s Group will be presenting partners for the renowned street art festival, which will take place from April 18 to 21.
First established in 2017, Nuart Aberdeen plays host to international artists who use the walls of the city centre as their canvas for showcasing world class street art murals and art installations.
Spearheaded by Aberdeen Inspired and Aberdeen City Council, Nuart Aberdeen has won four awards since it was first established, including the Downtown Achievement Award of Excellence by the International Downtown Association (IDA) for work and initiatives related to the 2018 event.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “In just two years Nuart Aberdeen has become one of Aberdeen’s most anticipated and exciting festivals truly capturing the hearts and minds of people from across the city. We are proud of what the festival has achieved so far and how it has changed perceptions in our city, putting us on the map globally as a vibrant and diverse city.
“Putting on an event of this scale is a big task and would not be possible without the support of a number of partners. We are appreciative of the continued backing of Aberdeen City Council and our delivery partners, Burness Paull and The McGinty’s Group, which enable us to make this fantastic festival a reality.
“The 2019 festival, which takes place over Easter Weekend, is shaping up to be another special event and we would encourage the people of the city, region and their friends and family to come visit and enjoy the programme of events on offer over that weekend and take in the world class street art that the festival presents.”
Cllr Marie Boulton, Aberdeen City Council’s culture spokesperson, said: “Nuart Aberdeen has had a fantastic impact on the city. It has captured the imagination of residents and visitors alike, raising Aberdeen’s profile globally and underlining our ambitious to continue building our reputation as an international destination. The Council has invested £300,000 over three years in Nuart Aberdeen and that has brought a significant return both culturally and economically.”
