Our very own winter wonderland, Curated at the Quad market at Marischal College, will once again create a magical atmosphere this weekend, where you can pick out the perfect gifts for your family and friends from our amazing range of stallholders. Over the coming weeks, we will introduce you to a few who are selling their interesting items at this year’s market.
Today it’s the turn of Teresa Collie from D!p who creates dips with a difference that go with a range of food beyond your usual dipping choices of crisps, tortillas and vegetables, also elevating your sandwiches, grilled meats and burgers. D!p will be at Curated in the Quad market from Friday 2 December- Sunday 4 December.

Can you tell us more about you and why you set up the company?
At a Hogmanay party with good friends, we were bemoaning the poor choices of dips in the shops. My friend, who has travelled extensively and especially spent time in the US, was telling me about all the amazing flavours you can get and challenged me to create something. I don’t have a foodie background, but I do enjoy cooking and am usually on dessert duty if there’s a get-together, but I did lots of research. I came up with some initial recipes and they were a hit with friends and family so D!P was born. I spent a lot of time on the branding and finalising the flavours, then started selling in July this year.
Can you tell us about the products you are selling at the Christmas Market?
I have 3 salsa-style dips – all with a fruity flavour and all with music inspired names.
Papa Don’t Peach is a Peach and Mango dip with a chilli kick and warmth of fresh ginger. Tequila Little Time is a Pineapple salsa with a dash of tequila and chilli – great with crisps but also great on a ham sandwich. Finally, there’s Rasp-beret Chipotle – beautiful Barra Berries rasps that are sweet and tangy, followed by a lovely chipotle warmth. Not overly spiced, but great with cheese and it makes a really impressive, layered dip; cream cheese on the bottom, covered in dip, then grate a nice sharp cheddar or Mexicana over the top and pop in the oven till it bubbles. Just the best winter warming dip for your tortillas or crusty bread.
Why did you decide to take part in this year’s Christmas Market?
As a consumer I love the Christmas Market – there’s a real buzz around Marischal Square and you get some great “different” gifts. I want to bring D!P to that audience as it’s the perfect accompaniment to the festive get-togethers and for gifting to the person that has everything!
What are you looking forward to at the Christmas Market?
I’m really hoping to get a glimpse of Santa! And I love chatting to people so I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new customers that perhaps haven’t seen the products before.
