MEET THE LOCALS - Heather’s Wood Craft Aberdeenshire
Meet Heather from Heather’s Wood Craft Aberdeenshire, who started her business last year from the inspiration to make Christmas presents for family members during lockdown. Heather has made her hobby into a small business specialising in working with leftover slabs of Oak, Elm and other hardwoods from the sawmill to create handmade items including the use of laser engraving to create bespoke deigns and personalised items like cheese boards, platters, coasters, tables and signs.
Heather works with everything and anything wood, her work is reasonably priced and high-quality materials are used which keeps the orders coming in and repeat custom.
Heather has a stall based in the Trinity Centre in which she describes as having a friendly and warm environment. Exhibiting at the centre is not Heather’s only job, she also has a full-time job in the Police. Before her residence at the Trinity Centre Heather was attending various craft markets, to build her business but she still attends various local markets frequently.
