The countdown is on to bring another touch of luxury to Union Street as work begins on a Rolex shop on the Granite Mile.

The new outlet is part of a £1 million investment on Union Street by iconic city jewellers Jamieson & Carry, who have already opened a Tag Heuer boutique on the corner of Belmont Street – across from the Rolex store.

Hoarding depicting the world-famous Rolex brand is now in place, with the shop due to open in October.

Philip Carry, partner at Jamieson & Carry, said: "We are very excited for this next stage of the project to begin.

"The redevelopment of our Union Street presence will see the creation of a new Rolex showroom and underpins our commitment to Union Street and the city.”

The arrival of the Rolex shop has been welcomed by Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired

He said: “The investment in this new Rolex boutique – along with the recent opening of the city’s first Tag Heuer outlet – is a vote of confidence in the future of Union Street by Jamieson & Carry, which is truly an Aberdeen institution.

“Bringing global brands such as these to the Granite Mile will hopefully encourage other businesses to see Union Street as the ideal place to open and prosper, helping revitalise our city centre.”
