Aberdeen Restaurant Week 2019 - July
Last week we saw 35 + city centre restaurants take part in the fourth edition of Aberdeen Restaurant Week! We were delighted with the number of businesses that signed up to be involved in the event ran from 15 - 21 July 2019. We had a fantastic response from the public to the launch of Aberdeen Restaurant Week last year and initial feedback is proving to be very positive from the last week. Inspired Nights on The Green - June
At the end of June we hosted our third Inspired Nights on The Green of the summer! A drizzly start but the sun finally came out for us resulting in over 10,000 visits to the market over the course of the weekend. Our event celebrates the best in Aberdeen & Shire food traders, local business and talent, whilst shining the spotlight on the north-east, helping to put it on the map as a vibrant place to live, visit, work and invest. Catch the next Inspired Nights on The Green from 26 - 28 July. Find out more here
Call for comedy venues & volunteers!
City centre businesses - we need your help for AICF 2019! Running from 3 - 13 October, the festival will bring some of the biggest names in comedy to the Granite City. If this is something your business is interested in then you can contact us at info@aberdeeninspired.com. We are also looking for volunteers to join our 2019 Comedy Crew. The festival wouldn't be possible without our volunteers - they are the eyes and ears of our festival and play a vital role in its smooth operation. City improvements lined up for more than £1 million of funding
Earlier this year the Scottish Government announced that it will be allocating £1.35 million from the Town Centre Fund to Aberdeen City Council to encourage positive improvements to the city centre. Aberdeen Inspired is delighted to have been directly involved in ensuring this particular national fund was extended to our cities. We are delighted that Aberdeen City Council has supported both our proposals, of parklets and suspended signage, to the combined value of some £500,000. Click here to read the full article
Aberdeen Inspired teams up with Robert Gordon's College
Last month our community & environmental co-ordinator Angela Joss worked alongside Robert Gordon’s College during their volunteer week. A different group of students each day helped to improve the city centre through tasks such as weeding, planting flowers as well as expressing their creative side through painting pebbles. This project has made a huge difference towards effecting positive change and instilling civic pride in younger generations.

Nuart Aberdeen inspires Airyhall pupils
This month our Senior Project Manager for Nuart Aberdeen, Ross Grant, attended the Airyhall School Business Breakfast to find out how Nuart Aberdeen has inspired the pupils to produce their own artworks. From wee monsters to their very own ‘Dude Kids’, we think we might have a few aspiring artists in the mix at Airyhall. We are delighted that Nuart Aberdeen is inspiring people across the city to embrace the legacy left by the festival.
