CityFibre and Vodafone Gigafast will be supporting the Aberdeen Christmas Village, which will open in the city centre this week.

Organised in partnership by Aberdeen Inspired, Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s, the Aberdeen Christmas Village will open to the public at Broad Street and Upperkirkgate on November 21 and run until December 31.

Now in its fifth iteration, the festive attraction has grown exponentially since it was first established and this year will feature seasonal Crazy Golf, the first festive themed Silent Disco tours, funfair favourites and the Christmas in the Quad market among other attractions.

This year the Aberdeen Christmas Village will also be backed by CityFibre and Vodafone Gigafast. Both organisations are pleased to be playing a part in helping create festive magic in the city centre.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Aberdeen Christmas Village when it launches. Delivered by Aberdeen Inspired alongside Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s, this year we are pleased to announce the event will also be kindly supported by CityFibre and Vodafone Gigafast.

“We would encourage the people of the city, region and further afield to visit and enjoy both our Christmas Village and the wider city. Whether that is staying in our wonderful hotels, sampling great cuisine in our restaurants and having fun in pubs, clubs or cafes, there is plenty to enjoy in Aberdeen this Christmas.”

Neil Blagden, Director of Digital & Commercial Operations at Vodafone UK, said: “We are delighted to support the Aberdeen Christmas Village and to bring Vodafone Gigafast Broadband to homes and businesses across Aberdeen. Christmas can be a brilliant time for families getting together, whether it’s enjoying a day out at the Christmas Village or at home, around the TV, downloading and watching their favourite Christmas film. We wish everyone involved in this great event, every success and lots of festive fun.”

Allan McEwan, CityFibre City Manager, said: “Aberdeen has a great sense of community and we experience this every day as we continue to roll out our future proof full fibre network infrastructure throughout the city.

“The Christmas Village is a highlight of the city’s winter calendar for residents and visitors alike, and this includes the local CityFibre team here in Aberdeen. We’re really excited to be supporting this year’s festivities as a special thank you for the support and goodwill we’ve enjoyed so far.”
